Access
Decide who may read your site.
Several AI companies run their own crawlers. Each can be allowed or blocked. Here’s what the choices look like.
1User-agent: GPTBot2Allow: /3User-agent: ClaudeBot4Allow: /5User-agent: PerplexityBot6Allow: /
What it does
Lets named crawlers read your public pages, so you can be represented in answers.
What I fix
Choose bot by bot, and keep private areas blocked.
Two ways models learn
Training is slow. Retrieval is yours to shape.
What the model learned earlier
Built from large amounts of past data. Slow to change, and not something any site owner controls directly.
What it looks up now
Live search and fetching. Your pages, clarity and freshness matter here, and this is where I focus.
Brand fact sheet
One page that says who you are.
Models often get small things wrong: what you sell, where you work, what you charge. A clear fact page gives them a source to use.
- Short, factual, dated.Plain statements models can lift without guessing.
- The same everywhere.Your profiles, directories and site repeat the same facts.
- Easy to correct. When something changes, one page is updated first.
Readable by machines
Make pages easy to parse.
- 01
Server-rendered text
Content that’s there in the page, not only after a script runs.
- 02
Clean headings and lists
A structure a model can follow without guessing.
- 03
Matching structured data
Markup that agrees with what’s visible on the page.
How it runs
Read, fix, re-check.
- 1Test what models say
Questions about you, asked across the main platforms.
A baseline of errors and gaps - 2Check access
Crawler rules, rendering and page structure.
A readiness report - 3Publish the facts
A fact page, clean content and consistent data.
Clear sources - 4Correct the sources
Fix the places wrong information comes from.
Fewer errors - 5Re-test
The same questions, regularly.

How language models read your site.
The short answer from Syed Hadi Hussain
What is LLM SEO?
LLM SEO helps large language models describe your business accurately. It covers crawler access, clear fact pages, consistent information across the web and checks of what assistants currently say about you.
What’s the difference between training and retrieval?
Training is what a model learned from past data. Retrieval is when it looks things up live. Your influence on training is slow and indirect. Your influence on retrieval is much more direct.
Should I allow AI crawlers on my site?
Often yes, if you want to be represented in answers. Some businesses block them to protect content. It’s your decision, and I’ll lay out the trade-offs for your situation.
What is llms.txt?
A proposed convention for summarising your site for language models. It isn’t an official standard and support varies, so I treat it as a cheap extra, not a fix.
How can I stop models getting my facts wrong?
Publish clear, consistent facts on your own site, and correct the sources they come from. You can’t edit a model, but you can fix what it learns and retrieves.
Does this replace normal SEO?
No. A site that search engines can’t crawl is also hard for language models to read, so the foundations come first.
