Page anatomy
Six parts decide whether a page works.
Hover or tap a part to see what it’s for. Left alone, they play in turn.
Search intent
Match the page to what they want.
The same topic can mean four different things. Each needs a different kind of page.
- how to choose a jacket
- what is a waterproof rating
What the page needs
- The answer near the top
- Plain examples
- A gentle next step
What goes wrong
- Selling too early
- Burying the answer in a long preamble
The rewrite
Same page. Better promise.
Titles and headings are the first thing a searcher judges. Flip to see a local service page before and after.
Two pages, one search
Stop your pages competing.
When two pages chase the same search, Google has to guess, and often ranks neither well. Merging them, with redirects, gives you one page that combines the authority of both.
It’s one of the quickest wins in on-page work, and one of the least glamorous.
Content refresh
Pages fade. Refreshing brings them back.
Most content peaks, then slips as information ages and rivals improve. Updating a page that already has authority is often the fastest win available.

The on-page checklist.
Tick what your page already does. The real review goes much deeper, but this shows how it works.
Most pages that don’t rank fail on the first two lines of this list. The rest is polish.

What people ask about on-page SEO.
The short answer from Syed Hadi Hussain
What is on-page SEO?
On-page SEO shapes each page so it matches what people search for: the right topic and intent, a clear title and headings, useful content, internal links and structured data. It is where search relevance and persuasion meet.
Is on-page SEO just keywords?
No. Keywords are the start. The page also needs to match what the searcher wants, answer it well, load quickly and make the next step obvious. Stuffing words in does the opposite.
